Life Lately

I've never painted my fingernails before. Suddenly I'm in a glitter frenzy.

Picked it up last night - finally.
Preview for the movie looked good so I figured I'd give it a try.

Hubby just had a birthday and this was one of his presents from good old wifey

Too cute not to throw in. Look at her little whiskers!!!!!

I love this time of year when the stores start stocking their agricultural livestock.
Tubs of chicks and duckies abound!

Sticks, as always, are a hot commodity around here

My husband has suddenly taken to climbing trees...some sort of Crossfit thingie

For hubby's birthday I made attempted to make a cake that he had requested from scratch.
The recipe seemed pretty straightforward despite the numerous ingredients.

But this is what we ended up with... File that shit under 'Fail'.

Mister Man was very happy with the taste of it though - He sat there with a fork eating the stuck chunks out of the pan. So of course now I'm contemplating making and Ombre cake for when his parents come this weekend. What the hell is wrong with me? Am I simply glutton for punishment????

For those unfamiliar with an Ombre cake, here's a photo of a slice.

So yeah. We'll see if that happens. In any event whatever I make has got to turn out better than the last cake...right???

'til next time...

  1. Oooh! Your nails look so pretty. I'm on a glitter frenzy myself for my nails. I'm trying my darndest to grow them out so keeping glittery things on it helps me not bite them.
And I totally thought the gift you got your hubby was a safe...but then I was like...it wouldn't make sense to put a safe outside your house :p
I hope you enjoy the HG book!!
    All the dog photos...love...so cute!
And your effort on the cake making...turned out better than what I would've produced. I say go for the ombre...it looks amazing.

    1. Thank ya sexy mama!!! I bought so many glitter colors it's a bit ridiculous. ;P
I'm loving the Hunger Games so far - it reads so smooth and easy! I didn't know it was a young adult book... I'll be done with this in the next day or so and I already know I'll want the second one!!!
I'm totally gonna have a go at the ombre cake - pics to come whether it comes out or not....
Hope the wedding planning is going great - I'm gonna email you later. I have something to ask you.

  2. I love glitter nail polish! And how come our stores don't sell tub fulls of chicks? I feel like I'm missing out! As always, your dogs are the cutest! Happy birthday, Todd!

    1. Isn't it pretty? I've been on a roll lately - bought every color of glitter!

And Dude. We live right on the edge of Frankfort and Lawrenceburg. Frankfort's population is roughly 24k and Lawrenceburg's is roughly 5k.... You can totally have tubs of chicks if you want to put up with that!!! lol! We're in the middle of nowhere!!! I can hear cows and donkeys from directly across the street.... Trust me, you're not missing out! Although, don't you just want to dive in there with them? It's like a sea of fuzziness!

  3. I love all those pics! I just heard of the Hunger Games series about three weeks ago since I live in the dark ages with Netflix as my only television source. I am not almost done with book two and have to say it has been worth the lack of sleep I have experienced from not being able to put the book down at night.

    1. Misty - Thanks! I'd heard of the books but I'm kind of stubborn like that sometimes. It was a fad...so I passed up on it. Til I saw the movie trailer! It looks really good. So far (I'm only on page 60) the book looks like it follows along with the movies to a tee. Have a feeling I'll be getting the second book this weekend! Hope everything is well with you! ♥

    1. Thank ya, ma'am!!! We keep piling all our sticks so that we can burn them...and the dogs just keep dragging them all over the damn yard again.
