Halloween is in the air!!!!

Ahhhhh! Our moving blues have been vanquished!
Mister and I took some much needed time for ourselves this weekend and recharged our batteries. Doesn't mean that all the problems have vanished - just means that we're back in a happy and healthy state emotionally. We were able to really enjoy the weekend. Can't let all those tiny little things bring you down!!!

So even though we were both nursing slight colds, we ventured out to a pumpkin patch where we paid only $0.20/lb for our pumpkins (how awesome is that??? I can't say it enough - I love Kentucky!!!) and picked up some lovely fresh apples for our mandatory Halloween caramel apples. After that we pretty much shut ourselves in to watch scary movies and eat disgusting amounts of treats!!!

Friday night treated us to a beautiful sunset.

Apples and pumpkins at Evans Orchards in Georgetown, Ky.

Mister insisted I picked pumpkins that were solid through and through! I swear they sounded hollow when I thumped them!

We picked Arkansas Black and Honeycrisp Apples to use for our caramel apples - and they were delicious!

Obligatory scary movies

Finally got around to using my pumpkin flavored marshmallows - I can't reccomend them enough! They're divine in hot chocolate! Tommorow I'm going to try a Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treat out...

and of course I worked on some more candy corns that have been promised to family and friends.
I can't believe tommorow is Halloween already! Even though I've been absent from posting, I've enjoyed reading all your Halloween posts immensely, and I'll be sad to see them go.

Hope you all had a safe and wonderful weekend!!!!

'til next time...

  1. Great photos! They make me want to visit Kentucky. I bought pumpkin marshmallows at good ol' Walmart last weekend and thought of you! The hot chocolate looks delicious...I've just been eating the marshmallows on their own. Yikes! Glad you guys had such a Halloween inspired time!
