Valentine Love Bunny

This Valentine's Day was a quiet event in our house. Mister and I decided not to do anything big since I had just purchased my plane tickets to California. Buuuuuuut my Mister is so sweet that he surprised me with a tiny little etsy gift! I adore Junker Jane and would love to own one of her dolls, unfortunately it's not in the budget for awhile. Well, when Mister saw this little Junker Jane Valentines Day Bunny he just couldn't pass it up. And boy am I glad he didn't, cause I love her!

Her name ended up being pocket, because that's where she fits!

Thank you Mister Blain...
You are the peanut butter to my jelly.

Rick's White Light Diner

I saw this cute little hamburger joint in downtown Frankfort while running errands last week, and since it was such a beautiful day (and I was feeling somewhat human) Mister and I decided to stop by and have some lunch today.

Turns out they had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on The Food Network, which is funny because my friend Liana and I were just talking about that show!

My deeeeee-licious Cheeseburger with Cheddar Cheese and Garlic Potatoes - Mister had a Pulled Pork Sandwich. We were both equally impressed.

It was the tiniest place with mismatched chairs and tables, and an owner that sat at the bar with a beer and chatted with us while we ate. I think that Mister and I might have found a new place to haunt!

I'm back and I have a weird ass cat

So it's been a little quiet on my blog front the past week or so. Turns out having the flu does not do Colleen's body good. But I think we're (mostly) back to our regularly scheduled programming. I'm hopeful anyway, since I leave for California in 2 days and flying with what has now turned into a cold can be somewhat uncomfortable. You know, with the sinus pressure causing your eyes to feel like they're going to pop out of your head from the pressure of taking off and landing...? Oh, I am so excited.

Onto the regularly scheduled programming... Which usually consists of one of my animals driving me crazy... So on that note, does anyone else's cat do this type of weird stuff?

This is the second loaf of bread I've purchased this week. Marley has managed to steal both loaves, drag them under the dining room table and eat a large chunk out of them. What the hell?

I understand that this is mostly my fault. I mean, I know that he does this. I've lost countless loaves of bread since owning him. The bread should be placed on top of the fridge, inside the bread box so that Marley cannot get to it.

However, placing a loaf of bread on the counter and then leaving the room for three minutes should be okay....shouldn't it?

Stupid, adorable cat.

Where are my spectacles?

Oh yeah. They're on my face.

My new granny glasses have arrived.

And now you know what my 'Blue Steel' looks like.

I am so not comfortable in front of any sort of camera.... :)

Nerds

...and then of course Mobee has to come over and ruin it.

He's such a grouchy little guy sometimes. He'll just stand there and growl until the playing has stopped. When I saw him walking over, I quickly shut off the camera so that my little guy didn't look bad on the internet!

The noises these two make are sooooo funny! And did you see the chompers on Crystal? She's got some pearly whites! :)

Sunday morning drive

Just some pics of our Sunday morning drive through Lexington and Georgetown...

I want to eat here next time we come to Lexington! Sadly, I had already stuffed myself on the sinfully delicious IHOP (yes, I finally found one!!!).

So many barns around here - I just don't know what to do! They are all so pretty, it's hard not to photograph them all!

I have a feeling I'm going to be boring you with these types of posts more and more as the sun decides to make its appearance.

It's so beautiful out here it takes my breath away sometimes.

Out my window...

For all you out there that aren't blessed with snow...

Can you see how HUGE those snowflakes are? They're ridiculous! This lasted for about two hours, and I was in love with every minute of it. Of course now it's the icky slushy rain that just kinda sucks. Not loving that.

I also saw one tiny chipmunk out there today, nibbling on the corn before the snow storm. He was so quick it was darn near impossible to get a shot of him. Paranoid little thing. Kept grabbing a piece and running into the brush to eat it. But I'm on a mission to get a picture of him now!

my laptop computer cat

I kinda took a break from my blog for the last couple of days... I've been so tired. It doesn't help that I have to work on this tiny laptop since my desktop died. Oh, did I mention that? Yeah, Mobee was screwing around and knocked the tower over and now it just kinda blinks at me.  And let me tell you, I'm not really a laptop kinda gal.  I really do prefer my desktop to my laptop any day of the week - I just find laptops difficult to work on for the most part.

One of the major reasons being:

All my USB connections happen to be conveniently located on that side of the computer...

Marley can just be a pain in the butt...generally speaking.

I wish he'd stick himself under the couch again. This clingy stuff is starting to get on my nerves....  =)

Mac and Cheese

Here is the second part of the 'True Love' project I started yesterday for Valentines Day.

Mac and Cheese

I worked on the hoops last night, putting some ribbon around them, but they still have a ways to go before they are finished. I think I'll start the transfer of the third part tonight, but I have to finish the last part of the Doodle Stitch Along, start the pattern for the Feelin Stitchy Stich Along, and clean house tommorow...so I'm not too sure how far I'll get on them. You know, with the busy, busy life that I lead... (yeah right)

Happy Groundhog Day!

I have a feeling Bob poked his head out this morning and didn't even bother waiting to see if he saw his shadow or not... He probably said to hell with this and went back to bed.

It. Is. Cold.

Something tells me we still have a few more weeks of winter, my friends.

Which is a bummer, because I'd really like to be able to feel my hands again.

And I'd love to see Bob again.

Bacon and Eggs

Happy February!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I love Valentine's Day, with all it's chocolate, kisses and pink hearts. It's just so pretty!

I'd really like to be a little more crafty this month, and I need to start pushing myself to get things done. Valentine's Day is the perfect reason to be crafty, don't you think?  So I'm going to try to complete a portion of craft each day (hmph, we'll see how that goes), at least until I have to leave for California, and then it's just having fun with the fam!

So here is my work in progress for today.

I'm starting a little five part project from some patterns I found on the Internet. The theme is 'True Love' in honor of Valentine's Day! I plan on dressing up some hoops and hanging them all in my craft room.

Bacon and Eggs

If any of you are thinking of possibly taking up embroidery (I'm talking to you Katie Bug) then I encourage you to do it! It is a inexpensive hobby that allows you to really express yourself! And it is really very simple to get the hang of! But I warn you, it can be a bit addicting!

Fuzzy Wuzzy

I seriously can't wait to hold this tiny little thing. My sister and brother-in-law made the most beautiful baby!

My trip to California is scheduled for the middle of February, so it won't be much longer! My mom sent me this picture today and I just couldn't resist sharing. I love her little fuzzy outift. And isn't my sister's choice in bedding just so pretty?
